Cape Trails welcomes new Specialized Mountain Bikes

Cape Trails, the cherished route builders of the FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) Mountain Bike (MTB) Events, will be seen traveling to work in style on their 2018 Rockhopper Comp 29er mountain bikes compliments of the organizers of the FNB W2W MTB Events and Specialized South Africa.

“The route builders from Cape Trails cycle approximately 6000km per year,” says Johan Kriegler, FNB W2W MTB Director.  “This includes cycling to work and back as well as going out on route while building the trails.  Because they spend so much time in the saddle, we wanted the process to be as enjoyable as possible for them.  Specialized has been the bike partner of the FNB W2W MTB Events since 2013, with Cape Trails being proud Specialized bicycle owners since 2014.  The Specialized Rockhopper is great value for money and is perfectly suited to Cape Trails’ requirements.  The DNA of W2W is mountain bikes.  It is fitting that through the sport we are able to positively influence the lives of these four budding entrepreneurs.”

Cape Trails is a SMME with the key objective to build and maintain MTB trails.

“We are really excited about our new Specialized mountain bikes,” says Brendon Booysen of Cape Trails.  “Being the newest Rockhopper Comp 29er model, the frames are lighter and peddling just seems easier.  We’re really happy and extremely proud of our new bikes.  It’s my new baby.”

According to fellow Cape Trails member, Ashwell Swart, it’s an honour and privilege to receive a new mountain bike.  “The Specialized bicycles are our mode of transport.  Not only do they make our work easier, they also help us to keep fit.  We’ve become stronger mountain bikers and are definitely more experienced now. We think we’re ready to compete in events.”
