On your bike
Puncture proof your tyres. If you prefer less formal roads and require a more difficult and challenging route, you can follow the myriad paths that criss-cross the property.
Jabali means ‘Small Mountain’ and, as the name indicates, the reserve is located at the foot of a flat topped, pyramid-shaped mountain called Renosterkop. From the summit you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views over Gauteng. During the Boer War there was fighting at Renosterkop. All kinds of interesting artifacts can be found around the mountain, so visit the graves of the vanquished and follow in the footsteps of early pioneers.

Off the bike
Jabali offers the most spectacular hiking trails encompassing wetlands, mountains and grassland. There is also horse-riding, rock-climbing and open vehicle game-viewing while birdwatchers will enjoy sightings of South Africa’s national bird, the blue crane.
