Stage 1: 82km (elev. 1167m)

Day one of the Trans Augrabies MTB takes riders over the Vredesvallei bridge to the unique landscapes of Riemvasmaak… shaped by ancient volcanic activity and many, many years of wind and water erosion, the single tracks, dry river beds and hidden gorges of this stage offers 29 km of 4 x4, and 9.5 km of Single Track, with just about half being decent gravel road.82 KM3-6 HRS1,167 MMODERATE

Stage 2: 84km (elev. 927m)

Day two of the Trans Augrabies MTB Stage Race focuses on the Augrabies Falls National Park, offering a challenging route with amazing wild life along the way. With a total elevation gain of 927 meters, covering just over 84 km, this route can be broken down into 5.9 km of 4 x 4 track, 53 km of gravel roads and the rest consisting of jeep track in between.84 KM3-6 HRS927 MMODERATE

Stage 3: 62km (elev. 644m)

Day three of the Trans Augrabies MTB Stage Race takes riders across the mighty Orange River towards Khamkirri, “the place where leopards roam”. With a total elevation gain of just under 700 meters, covering 62 km of breath-taking scenery, this route can be broken down into 6 km of 4 x 4 track, 7 km of gravel roads, 2 km of tar and the Lion’s ‘Leopard’s’ Share consisting of some amazing Single Track.62 KM2-4 HRS644 MTECHNIC

The 2020 Trans-Augrabies MTB – 3-Day Stage Race will take riders through the majestic Green Kalahari region of South Africa, following the unique landscapes that make up the Augrabies Falls National Park, the legendary community of Riemvasmaak and the wild landscapes of Khamkirri – covering more than 223 Kilometers over several types of terrain and expected weather conditions.

Riders and companions will get to discover a region of our country recently rated under the Top Ten Adventure destinations by Rough Guides. A vast and desolate land contrasted by the green and vibrant valley of the mighty Gariep (Orange) River.

It is by no means an easy race, but racers will be rewarded with breathtaking scenery and an authentic regional experience.
