The Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic, one of the North West Province’s most revered off-road events, have moved to Saturday 28 August 2021.
The decision to move the event from June to August was made the day after President Cyril Ramaphosa’s national address (Sunday, 30 May 2021) that announced a return to Lockdown Level 2 for South Africa in light of a possible third wave of COVID-19 infections. Event Organisers confirmed that the new date would be released the following week.
“Fedhealth is a responsible player in the health sector, and we support the very difficult decision to move the events to later in the year,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, Organisers of both events. “We are, however, happier to postpone the event rather than cancel it as we are optimistic that restrictions will be eased over the next couple of months. We are excited to announce that the event will move to Saturday 28 August.”
“We will at all times adhere to Government Regulations with regard to the hosting of events during the pandemic period,” continues Meyer. “There is a long list of requirements that need to be met to ensure that the event is hosted in a safe and responsible manner. We will continue to be in constant communication with the local municipality and Disaster Management Officials to ensure the safety of entrants, staff and external stakeholders at the event. We can’t wait to welcome mountain bikers to the start line at the ATKV Buffelspoort in August.”
PLEASE NOTE: In light of the Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic being moved from June to Saturday 28 August, existing entrants have three options to choose from:
Existing Entrant Options:
- Rollover your entry to the new 2021 date (Saturday 28 August).
- Rollover your entry to the 2022 event.
- Request a full refund.
Existing entrants have from 07 – 21 June 2021 to confirm their option choice. Entrants need to send a confirmation mail to entries@stillwatersports.com
Accommodation at ATKV Buffelspoort:
Existing entrants that have booked accommodation at the ATKVBuffelspoort according to the June event date(s) will be able to rollover their booking to the new event date or any other weekend. For more information please contact ATKVBuffelspoort directly via email chantelm@atkv.org.za
