Kap Sani2C a Community Success Recipe
The Sani2c is one of the oldest and biggest mountain bike races in South Africa. Close to four thousand five hundred cyclists participate in the three day 286 kilometre event which starts at Underberg in the Drakensberg and ends in the South Coast town of Scottburgh. The Sani2C business model offers a unique approach to involving the community throughout the year as local communities prepare and maintain the trails that are devoured by excited mountain bikers during the yearly event. All participants will acknowledge the amazing trails, the flow, the technical expertise and the pure nirvana these trails produce, the Sani2C is a definite bucket list event for any mountain biker.
On the last day of the 2019 Sani2C seven staff members were sadly killed in a motor vehicle accident on their way home after the event. A group of Kap Sani2C cyclists immediately set up a fund raising account to offer support to the families of those staff killed in the accident.
