Moletadikgwa (pronounced Mo-let-a-deeg-wa), in the heart of the Waterberg, is at an altitude of 1,400 m. This wildlife sanctuary has 420 ha of woodland, savanna, plains and krantzes – fascinating rock features being a characteristic of the geology here. Make up your own combination of rides through scenic, deciduous bushveld with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, you can even see mountain ranges 90 km distant.
On your bike
The farm is ideally suited to mountain biking. One formal route of about 10km has been laid out and marked on a map, but there are various other vehicle and game tracks that can be used.
There are numerous tracks with alternating surfaces of hardpack and loose sand that are ideal for mountain-biking. The peaceful surroundings are conducive to bird- and game-viewing, and both these activities can be done on a bicycle. There are about 150 animals on the property, including giraffe, kudu, impala, wildebeest, red hartebeest, zebra, waterbuck, warthog, bushpig, mountain reedbuck, baboon and monkeys, so sightings are generally very good.
