Cape Epic Prologue Results

The ladies #UCI prologue saw teams lining up in new fresh combinations, only Team Ascendis Health had managed to keep their partnership intact. The short punchy start to the 2018 Cape Epic on what is basically a XC course has shown the form of the riders. Annika and Kate coming in 1st, Ariana and Githa showing some good form 2nd on the podium, and the more measure approach saw Robyn and Sabine take up 3rd spot.

The racing starts tomorrow on the longer routes, in a very hot and dry Cape.

Ariane Luthi: “I was really happy with second. Racing for an hour is a gear up from what I am used to and to race against the cross country riders is really hard on a stage like this. My partner Githa Michiels went super hard … I am very pleased to have her on my side.”

Robyn de Groot: “Nice leg-loosener. Nice way to get the engines going and get started. We kept it safe. Everything was good as a team.
