Less than an hour of tarmac cruising from Johannesburg will get you to the 430ha Buffelsdrift, an unspoilt bushveld paradise set on the Elands River.
Buffelsdrift, Rust de Winter, is 83km northeast of Pretoria. Follow the N1 towards Polokwane, take the Pienaarsrivier off-ramp and travel east to Rust de Winter. Pass the Rust de Winter Dam road sign and Egen patrol station before looking out for the Buffelsdrift turn-off your right.
