Dutch U23 rider Tom Schellekens is joining the KMC RidleyMountainbike Racing Team
Ready to start ‘Mission Part 5’ towards
the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 together!
Talented Dutch rider Tom Schellekens is joining the KMC Ridley Mountainbike
Racing Team starting at January 1, 2025.
Tom was riding this year’s competition both disciplines, road and mountainbike, as
a proud member of the Visma|Lease a Bike Development Team.
Learning, experiencing, growing and developing by riding both disciplines, Tom
decided to focus on mountainbike for the coming years.
His main goal in mountainbike is competing at the Olympic Games in
Los Angeles 2028.
Bart Brentjens, Team Director of ‘KMC Ridley Mountainbike Racing Team’:
“We are happy Tom will join our Team for the next years. Working towards
participation in the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 as his highest goal, is exactly
the ambition that we look for in our riders.
With our Team, we will start Mission Part 5 in January 2025. Mission Part 5, is a four
year cycle that works towards the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, 2028.
The next Olympic Summer Games in 2028, will bring back mountain biking to its
roots where it all started, in California USA. LA2028 will be the first Olympic Games
back in the USA, after the Centennial Games of Atlanta 1996, where mountain
biking became an Olympic discipline.
We look forward to working with Tom together on shared goals and vision. I am
confident that Tom can become an Olympic athlete and develop into one of the
best mountain bikers worldwide.”
Tom Schellekens, international Dutch U23 mountainbiker:
“I am very happy and proud to be part of the KMC Ridley Mountainbike Racing
Team. It gives me a lot of confidence and I am sure that this is the right team for
me! I am really looking forward to riding the whole UCI World Series program and
pursuing my biggest goal, LA2028!”
