Life Time Grand Prix returns to Cable, WI for fourth
round of the 2026 series 
The Life Time Grand Prix continues on Saturday, September 19, with the Life Time Chequamegon Mountain Bike Festival.

Marking its 43rd anniversary this year, this iconic Wisconsin race stands as one of the nation’s most historic mountain biking competitions. Spanning 38.3 miles, the elite course is the shortest in the series, sending riders on a grueling trek from Hayward to Cable along the American Birkebeiner Ski Trail, where they battle back-to-back climbs and constantly shifting terrain. Between the condensed mileage and a stacked roster, the event promises action-packed racing from start to finish. 

As the series shifts into its second half, the stakes are higher than ever. With the announcement of a new qualification format for 2027, only the top 10 men and top 10 women in this year’s final standings are guaranteed automatic entry into next season’s Grand Prix. With just three events remaining, Chequamegon marks the start of a crucial final stretch where riders must execute every opportunity to secure a coveted top-10 spot.
Life Time Grand Prix 2026 To Date

Sofía Gómez Villafañe maintains her grip on the women’s Life Time Grand Prix standings following back-to-back victories in the opening races. However, Cecily Decker sits just three points behind in second place overall after a heroic effort at the Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB presented by Kenetik earning her the runner-up position, despite a late puncture. Lauren Stephens, Hayley Preen, and Paige Onweller remain firmly in the battle for podium through consistent performances so far in the series, while Melisa Rollins fights her way up the ranks following a dramatic comeback in Leadville

The men’s field continues to deliver dynamic battles, but Keegan Swenson has taken sole ownership of the overall Series lead, six points clear of second place, Bradyn Lange. Just 10 points separate second and fifth place, Alexey Vermeulen, who was triumphant in the 2025 edition of the Life Time Chequamegon Mountain Bike Festival.
