CST PostNL Bafang Mountainbike Racing Team starts the season in South Africa

Tankwa Trek

Tankwa Trek 1st mountain bike race in the Olympic year
The mountain bike season is about to start! This year the Team’s 100% focus is on the
Olympic Games in Tokyo. To get there we have a complete program of races, that
we start with a training camp in South Africa. A few of our riders kick off the season
with the Tankwa Trek, a 4 day mountain bike stage race, starting this Thursday
February 6 till Sunday February 9.
The riders of our Team starting in the Tankwa Trek:
• Sebastian Fini Carstensen (Denmark) & David Nordemann (The Netherlands)
• Mariske Strauss (South Africa) riding with Candice Lill (South Africa / Team 2Face)
• Abraao Azevedo (Brasil) & Bart Brentjens (Netherlands) Masters
Bart Brentjens,
Team Director of the CST PostNL Bafang Mountain bike Racing Team:
‘We are happy the season is starting and we travel to South Africa for the Team’s
training camp. An Olympic year is always different from a ‘non’ Olympic year.
With still some qualification races for the Olympic Games in May and the World
Championships already in June, the season will go fast.
South Africa has perfect training conditions and awesome mountain bike trails. The
Tankwa Trek is a new challenge for our Team. It’s exciting to see how our new
Team rider Mariske will perform, starting in her home country. She is still in the race
for an Olympic qualification, like David Nordemann and Sebastian Fini Carstensen.
The Europeans and the first UCI World Cup are in May. We are working towards
those races as they are important moments to qualify.’
