At the headquarters of KMC Chain Europe, the legendary duo Rob Warner – well
known from the ‘former’ Redbull TV productions of the UCI World Cup Series and
professional Downhiller in the 90’s – and Bart Brentjens, founder and teammanager
of the team and the first Olympic Champion Mountainbike ever (1996)- presented
the brand new KMC MTB Racing Team 2023.
In a unique ‘KMC Studio’ the whole team, staff and

our riders Yana Belomoina (National Champion of Ukraine), Lotte Koopmans (The Netherlands), Janika Loiv (National Champion of Estonia), Sasha Hudyma (National Champion XCC of
Ukraine), Ole Sigurd Rekdahl (National Champion XCC of Norway), Martins Blums
(National Champion of Latvia) and Dutch Champion XCO David Nordemann (The
Netherlands) were presented in an entertaining talk show and welcomed by Christ
Bakker, Managing Director of KMC Chain Europe.
Besides the new main sponsor for the team and a brand new team kit in dark blue
and lime designed by Fila, the team will also ride with a new bike sponsor, Ridley,
and with a new tire sponsor, Vittoria. The brand new custom painted Ridley bikes in
blue and lime were presented by the mechanics of the team.

Yana Belomoina (Ukraine), Elite Women, 3 times Olympian:
“I just did my first training ride here in the Netherlands under very windy conditions
but I am very happy how the new bike feels! Because it was my first training my
position still needs some work but I really have to say I am looking forward to race
on it!”

Bart Brentjens, Team Manager of the KMC MTB Racing Team:
“It feels good to already see everyone so early in the season! That is important, so
the team can directly connect with each other. It’s just a matter of time before we
see each other again at the team training camp in South Africa in February.
I am very proud of the team and all what we have accomplished already. This
year is the15th season for our Mountainbike Team, but today it feels like a totally
new start . It is very nice to work so close with the team and the sponsors. With
Janika Loiv and Ole Sigurd Rekdahl we have another two strong riders to the
Team. I am looking forward to the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and the road to
get there with the team.”
After the presentation, David Nordemann and Lotte Koopmans also officially
opened the KMC Bike Park, together with Rob Warner and Christ Bakker.
Janika Loiv will kick of the season with the Costa Blanca Bike Race in Spain at the
end of this month. The first race for the whole team will be the Tankwa Trek in South
Africa from February 9 till February 12.
