TRAIL DESTINATION > Medike Mountain Reserve
A flatter but longer 22 km ride along the Sand river passes neighbouring farms all the way to the R522. The terrain at Medike is very mountainous with beautiful views of the sand River and mountain bushveld containing yellowwood trees in mysterious gorges. As a matter of interest, the main railway line to Zimbabwe passes through this reserve. Puncture proof your tyres and bring insect repellant in summer to avoid getting tick bite fever when you return home.
