Gauteng mountain bikers can come along and test their skills – or simply enjoy some time out in the sun on their bikes – at the world-class PwC Cycle Park in Bryanston.
The PwC Bike Park is one of the first International standard cycle parks in Gauteng. We cater for cyclists and their families and provide a variety of activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Our focus is on the younger family members and we want them to have a memorable time full of safe fun activities.
If the little sprog is starting out on a pushbike or training wheels we have a tarred kids track for them to find their confidence and practice their riding until they are comfortable enough to take on our junior mountain bike trail, pump track or the rolling hills of the multi-tiered BMX track designed for a variety of experience levels. If they want a break from the bike or are not interested in cycling they can play on the jungle gym or bounce around on the jumping castle.
The family can sit at the wooden clubhouse deck, picnic on the grass embankment or book a Boma with braai facilities to have a family day out or celebrate a birthday with any one of our kid’s party packages to enjoy their birthday with friends.
We are passionate about providing a safe cycling experience for the whole family and we use the International Mountain Biking Association trail signage colour coding system, keeping you on the right trail for your riding ability. Whether you are just starting out in the sport or are more experienced, you will find trails to enjoy and challenge you as you ride or run through this beautiful park.
We have a selection of Mountain bikes, BMX’s or Kids Straddle Bikes available for hire at the park.
If the following applies to you:
We are attending a birthday party or function and don’t have bikes.
I don’t have a bike but want to join friends for a ride to experience the excitement of cycling.
I’m visiting Gauteng and I didn’t bring my bike to ride with my family and friends.
I’m considering cycling as a recreational sport but I don’t want to buy a bike before I am sure I like cycling.
I’m a road cyclist and want to try mountain biking.
Then you can hire a Mountain bike or BMX when you come and visit your Bike Park.
Mountain Bikes: R200 per day
BMX: R100 per day
The PwC Bike Park uses the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) trail colour coding system.
Green (Circle): Easy flowing Single Track or Jeep Track suitable for new riders in the Bike Park environment. Perfect trails to build-up your riding confidence, balance and bike handling skills.
Blue (Square): Faster and more challenging single track trails designed for riders that are at an intermediate level in bike handling and technical riding ability. These trails should only be attempted once you have gained sufficient experience and skill on the Green Trails.
Black (Diamond): Fast and extremely challenging single track trails that must only be attempted by riders with high levels of technical ability. The trails include sudden changes in terrain, drop off paths and gap jumps that can cause serious injury to a rider with limited or recreational riding ability.
Double Black Diamond (Out of Category): Fast and dangerous single track trails that are designed for expert and professional riders honing their extensive technical riding ability. Please do not attempt these trails unless you fit into the expert or professional cycling category.
Each of the entrance signs has a numerical value. These range from 1 – 5, with 1 being the easiest and 5 being the hardest. Green (1) is the easiest trail and Black (5) is the most challenging. The Double Black Diamond falls beyond the above and is rated as out of category.
