Trail’s End Mountain Biking Hotel is situated in the heart of the Overberg. Grabouw is a delightful region that boasts with beautiful scenes of farms, forests and splendid mountains. Only 60km from Cape Town CBD it is the perfect getaway from the city life. The Elgin Valley is just a bike ride away and the whale watching mecca Hermanus, also just around the corner. Grabouw is a popular spot to take part in outdoor activities and visit wine farms, restaurants, farm stalls and coffee shops.
Trail’s End Hotel is nestled in the beautiful town of Grabouw. Well-known for some of the best mountain trails in South Africa, Grabouw is perfect for thrill-seekers and adventure sports enthusiasts. Situated in the beautiful Elgin valley, spoiled with diverse awe-inspiring routes that lead you over Fynbos covered mountains, through forests and along rivers.
This adventure hotel is a hub for outdoor and fitness buffs as it will cater to mountain bikers, trail runners, triathletes, swimmers and hikers. It will provide stylish accommodation and a comfortable training spot for athletes countrywide.
Trail’s End is a family and child friendly destination and will also offer privacy for the single athlete. The hotel will offer breakfast, dinner by request and also speciality food for teams and athletes.
The masterminds of Trail’s End know how priceless a hot shower and comfortable bed is after taking on a mountain by foot or bike and that is why they have made sure that, that is exactly what you will get at the end of your busy day. The hotel has an established wellness centre and Pilates studio. Families can relax by the swimming pool, or simply enjoy the tranquility of life in the country.
Triathletes and swimmers will be welcome to train in the purpose built 20m, two lane pool. The conference centre is a facility that will host multi-day training clinics and seminars as well as corporate team building.
The surrounding mountains offer various gradient and difficulty levels, ranging from beginner through to advanced. These trails cater to mountain bikers, trail runners and everything in between.
MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS
Grabouw is well known for its exciting mountain bike trails. Trial’s End is a family friendly venue that caters to all. We are in the process of building an awesome and very safe kids pump track on the premises. Other child friendly activities will include a swimming pool, walks, hikes, a slackline and possibly even a climbing wall. We at Trail’s End strive to make a difference not only to the environment but to uplifting our community with exciting and fun local community projects.
PAUL CLUVER TRAILS
Paul Cluver Wine Estate has several trails of varying skill levels. The trails start in the amphitheatre and take the rider through various obstacles and man-made tracks. Riders can expect fun tracks such as The Pofadder, a bermed bridge, created with wine barrel slats, which lie at the foot of a waterfall. Permits for ElginMTB can also be purchased at Paul Cluver to gain access to trails that combine Paul Cluver Trails and Oak Valley MTB Trails. Daily and annual permits are available. Permits can be purchased at the Paul Cluver Tasting Centre during weekdays only.

MTO MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS
The MTO Forestry area in the mountains of Grabouw has endless rugged and unmarked trails waiting to be explored. Bring your GPS and find your own way. The trail extends to Oak Valley, then onto Paul Cluver and then finally onwards to Hermanus. Another trail leads you to the Gamtou Pass where you will come across the old wagon trail, a heritage sight. Here, the trail ends, as you are not allowed to ride your bike on this site. You can stop and carry your bike down the road, or rather turn back on your trail to Trail’s End.

LEBANON MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS
Lebanon has four available trail routes with varying distance and skill levels. They offer single track trails where beginner to advanced riders can test and practice their mountain biking abilities. Furthermore, the trails offer beautiful scenery for the rider to take in during his trail ride. Lebanon also provides accommodation.

OAK VALLEY MOUNTAIN BIKING EXPERIENCE
Oak Valley MTB Trails has three marked mountain biking routes, ranging from family friendly trails to advanced trails. The mountain biking routes have well-maintained single tracks and bridges. The trails are situated at Oak Valley Wine Estate. The trails start and end at the main entrance gate. Permits for ElginMTB can also be purchased at Oak Valley to gain access to trails that combine Paul Cluver Trails and Oak Valley MTB Trails.
