Giba Blue Trail

Giba Gorge is Durban’s flagship mountain bike destination — a dedicated MTB park in a magnificent indigenous gorge in Pinetown with a full trail network, pump track, skills area, café and accommodation. The Blue Trail is the intermediate option: 15km of flowing singletrack through the gorge’s dense indigenous vegetation with the sound of running water throughout.

What to Expect

Flowing singletrack on moderately rolling gorge terrain through indigenous KZN bush. Giba is known for excellent trail building — the singletrack is flowing, purposeful and well-maintained. The gorge setting creates a naturally beautiful environment with characteristic KZN vegetation including wild banana, indigenous figs and a rich bird community. The café at the trailhead makes the post-ride recovery easy.

Giba’s Facilities

The pump track at Giba is one of the best in KZN — a standalone visit to ride it is worthwhile. The skills area makes this an excellent development venue for improving riders. Weekend mornings are popular — arrive early to avoid the crowds.
