Karkloof 20km Lite Route

The Karkloof 20km Lite Route is the accessible intermediate option at one of KZN’s premier trail venues — a carefully curated loop through the most scenic sections of the Karkloof indigenous forest on well-built, flowing singletrack. Regular riders and trail newcomers who want more than the family route but aren’t ready for the longer options will find the Lite Route perfectly pitched.

What to Expect

Flowing indigenous forest singletrack on moderately rolling terrain. The Karkloof forest — dominated by Podocarpus yellowwoods and a rich understorey — creates an enclosed, atmospheric riding environment with characteristic filtered forest light. The trail quality at Karkloof is consistently excellent throughout the 20km option.
