Greg Minnaar Back From Injury And Locked In For Crankchaos 2018
Whether by pure chance or just the universe itself that deciding someone else should get a chance at this year’s UCI Downhill World Cup, a crash on a final practice run ruled 7-time champion Greg Minnaar out of the event. Nearly all healed up now and raring to go, the greatest ever is ready to rock those pedals again. Next stop? CrankChaos. CrankChaos is the mountain biking festival that takes place at the majestic Afriski Mountain Resort, situated in the heart of the Drakensberg-Maluti Mountains in Lesotho, from the 1st to the 4th of November 2018. CrankChaos is one of the most unique biking events on the continent and brings together the biggest brand names in mountain biking as well as the experience of the only Mountain Bike Uplift in Africa.
After missing out on last year’s edition of CrankChaos because of a knee injury, excitement is building on both sides for the return of Minnaar who holds the event in very high esteem. “CrankChaos is what the South African mountain biking industry has been waiting for. Similar festivals happen all over the world; it’s about time we had one of our own. I’m really excited about the location and the format and can’t wait to be there.”
Our focus for the moment is back home and if you’re looking for an opportunity to see the greatest of all time tearing it up on home soil again, then, this year, there is only one event where you’ll find him. “The only event, in South Africa, I’ll be back for is Crank Chaos.” said an expectant Greg Minnaar.
The pristine trails of Afriski Mountain Resort will yet again be the spectacular backdrop for one of South Africa’s most exciting mountain biking events and as if you needed any more incentive for CrankChaos 2018, you’ll also get the chance to rub shoulders with Greg Minnaar. This year, more than other, will be an event you don’t want to miss.
