Magoebaskloof Forest Singletrack

The Magoebaskloof Adventures Black Route is the most technically demanding trail in the TMA network — a 10km expert loop that follows 5km of technical singletrack along the contours of the Letaba Gorge through dense riverine forest before climbing steeply to a viewpoint with spectacular views over the Georges Valley. The MTBRoutes description is clear: ‘one thing to keep in mind is that the Magoebaskloof route is not for the faint-of-heart.’ The trail has been designed by outdoor operator Magoebaskloof Adventures, who also run the canopy tour, tubing and abseiling activities in the gorge area.

What to Expect

Highly technical singletrack on expert terrain along the Letaba Gorge. The gorge singletrack demands full concentration — technical sections, roots, rocks and the steep gorge walls below create conditions that require expert bike-handling. The steep climb to the viewpoint is physically demanding and the Georges Valley views from the top are spectacular. The descent is technical throughout.
