Magoebaskloof Stanford Lake Loop

Stanford Lake Lodge is one of the Magoebaskloof area’s most celebrated accommodation venues — a beautiful mountain lake lodge at the foot of the Wolkberg range with exceptional mountain views, trout fishing and horse riding. The TMA Blue Route is the trail network’s most accessible option: 5.3km along the shoreline of Stanford Lake and Ebenezer Dam on a well-used, flat road — suitable for families with young children and riders of all abilities. It can be extended by 3km by following the Ebenezer Dam road further.

What to Expect

Flat, well-surfaced roads along the lake and dam shoreline. No technical demands whatsoever — this is a scenic shoreline ride accessible to young children on bikes, elderly riders and anyone wanting a gentle outdoor experience in a beautiful mountain lake setting. The birdlife on Stanford Lake — which includes African fish eagle — is exceptional.
