Sebona gunning for second FNB Magalies Monster MTB Classic title
Returning to the ATKV Buffelspoort on Saturday, 01 June 2019 Phillimon Sebona has set his sights on a second FNB Magalies Monster MTB Classic title! Sebona got his first taste of victory at this event in 2017 when he conquered the Monster (Marathon / +-65km) in a deserving time of 03 hours 06 minutes 10 seconds.
“The FNB Magalies Monster MTB Classic is a one day event that can seriously test your limits,” says Sebona. “The Monster’s route is very challenging especially the first 10km into the race with sand and hard climbing on loose rocks. Claiming gold at the FNB Magalies Monster MTB Classic in 2017 has had a positive effect on my mountain biking career. It was definitely my biggest win and as a result it’s become a must do event for me. ”
“I would like to win again,” confirms Sebona. “So I will be coming back stronger than before and will work extremely hard to win. The FNB Magalies Monster MTB Classic is an awesome event. My advice to newcomers is to keep your own pace and do not make the mistake of going hard from the start.”
