Tafu 22.16 Mile Route

The Tafu 22.16 Mile Route (36km) is one of the eastern Free State’s lesser-known riding circuits — a gravel and singletrack loop through the highland farming country northeast of Bethlehem where the Highveld elevation starts to climb toward the Drakensberg foothills. The route is quiet, scenic and underridden.

What to Expect

Gravel farm roads and singletrack sections on gently rolling to moderately hilly Highveld terrain. Mountain views toward the Drakensberg feature throughout and the eastern Free State farming landscape — cattle, sheep and occasional game — creates a genuinely pastoral riding atmosphere. Navigation requires a GPX track from Trailforks.
