Eagle Cove 5km Loop

Eagle Cove at Kumbagana Game Park is a well-regarded hiking and MTB destination in the Magaliesberg mountains near Rustenburg — described as ‘a very popular hiking trail situated in the heart of the Magaliesberg mountains’ with three well-planned and maintained day loops of 5km, 6km and 10km starting from the base camp. The trails feature 30m descending steps into kloof terrain, sparkling mountain streams, excellent panoramic views and abundant game and birds. Note the 3km walk or transport option from reception to base camp.

What to Expect

Compact mountain trails on rocky Magaliesberg terrain with steel ladder descents into gorge sections and mountain stream crossings. The 5km loop accesses the most accessible sections of the Eagle Cove terrain. Indigenous bush, panoramic views and swimming holes in the kloof are the highlights. Both base camp and Black Eagle Camp can sleep groups — book in advance.
