Hartbeeshoek Nature Loop
The Hartbeeshoek area sits on the southern boundary of the Hartbeespoort Dam catchment — a landscape of quartzite hills, game farms and smallholdings on the edge of the Cradle of Humankind UNESCO World Heritage Site. The quad bike trails at Segwati operate from a game farm on the northern Cradle boundary here, and the gravel road network through the surrounding farms provides good riding terrain on moderately rolling rocky hills.
What to Expect
Gravel roads and farm tracks on moderately hilly quartzite terrain. The rocky Magaliesberg-edge geology creates a distinctive riding surface with scattered boulders and mixed Bushveld vegetation. Wildlife on the surrounding game farms — impala, kudu, zebra and warthog — provides frequent interest. The Hartbeeshoek Road itself is a scenic gravel road through this quiet farming community.
