Potchefstroom 12km Loop
Potchefstroom (JB Marks) is North West Province’s most academically significant city — home to North-West University and with a strong sporting heritage as a host venue for the 2010 FIFA World Cup training camps. The 12km loop connects the university campus greenspace, the Mooi River cycle path and the city’s parks on easy flat terrain. Distinct from the Dr Kenneth Kaunda 12km which covers the broader district context.
What to Expect
Paved cycle paths and gravel on flat urban terrain. The Mooi River corridor is the most pleasant section with good tree cover and riparian birdlife. The NWU campus greenspace adds a pleasant academic urban riding environment. A practical daily recreational option for the city’s student and resident community.
Getting There
Potchefstroom (JB Marks) on the N12. GPS: -26.7034, 27.0923.
