Rustenburg 15km Urban
Rustenburg (meaning ‘city of rest’) is North West Province’s wealthiest city — a platinum mining centre and home to the Royal Bafokeng Nation at the foot of the Magaliesberg range. The 15km Urban Loop uses the city’s road network and park paths to connect Rustenburg’s key recreational spaces on easy terrain. The Kgaswane Mountain Reserve rises directly above the city — this urban loop is a convenient warm-up before tackling the reserve’s more demanding terrain.
What to Expect
Easy paved roads and gravel paths on flat urban terrain. The approach road to Kgaswane Mountain Reserve provides the most scenic urban section — riding toward the Magaliesberg above the city. The city’s platinum mining wealth is visible in the well-maintained infrastructure and the Royal Bafokeng facilities.
