Vryburg 18km Bushveld

Vryburg is the service centre for the southern North West Province — a small city on the N14 in the transitional zone between the Highveld and the Kalahari. The landscape has the characteristic red soils and camelthorn acacias of the Kalahari edge with a dry thornveld vegetation quite different from the rest of the province. The 18km ride follows gravel roads and bush tracks through this distinctive semi-arid landscape on intermediate terrain with good wildlife encounters.

What to Expect

Gravel roads and bush tracks on gently rolling semi-arid terrain. The Kalahari-fringe character — red soils, camelthorn trees and gemsbok visible on the game farms — creates a distinctive riding environment. Gemsbok, springbok and the excellent Kalahari birdlife provide consistent interest. An unusual and rewarding riding destination in a corner of North West Province most visitors overlook.
