Tweeling Twin Farms Trail

Tweeling (meaning twins in Afrikaans — the town is named for twin farm owners) is a small agricultural centre in the eastern Free State, surrounded by productive sunflower, maize and wheat farms. The 30km Twin Farms Trail explores the farm road network around the town on a solid intermediate gravel loop with genuine rural character.

What to Expect

Gravel farm roads on flat to gently rolling eastern Highveld terrain. Sunflower fields in late summer (February–April) create spectacular golden vistas. The riding is peaceful and rhythmic — this is gravel cycling at its most fundamental. Farm gates, cattle and the occasional tractor are the only traffic.
