Ezemvelo Nature Reserve Trails

Ezemvelo Nature Reserve near Bronkhorstspruit offers a quieter, more remote riding experience than most Gauteng trail centres. The 20km loop winds through open grassland plains and rocky koppies, with springbok, zebra and other plains game frequently visible across the reserve’s undulating terrain.

What to Expect

Trails are gravel roads and compacted dirt paths through open savanna and grassland. Riding is intermediate in effort — the terrain is not highly technical, but the distance and lack of shade in summer make it physically demanding. The reserve is genuinely peaceful and wildlife encounters are common throughout.

Getting There

From Johannesburg take the N12 east toward Bronkhorstspruit. Follow signs to Ezemvelo Nature Reserve east of town. GPS: -25.7456, 28.7234.
