Cathkin Trails Blue Route

Cathkin Trails sits in Champagne Valley at the foot of the iconic Cathkin Peak — a spectacular section of the Central Drakensberg where the escarpment wall creates a dramatic backdrop for some of KwaZulu-Natal’s finest trail riding. The Blue Route is the intermediate option at this well-developed trail venue, offering 20km of flowing singletrack with consistent Drakensberg views.

What to Expect

Singletrack and gravel tracks on moderately rolling Drakensberg foothills terrain. The Cathkin Peak massif dominates the western skyline throughout and the characteristic grassland and indigenous bush of the KZN midlands-Drakensberg transition zone creates a beautiful riding environment. Intermediate fitness and basic singletrack skills are appropriate for the blue route.
