Mandastone Back Route
Mandastone Farm is in the Mid Illovo area of the KZN coastal hinterland — a productive farming district where sugar cane, dairy farms and the characteristic rolling hills of the KZN coast hinterland create a varied riding landscape. The 18km Back Route follows farm roads and singletrack through this productive farming country with the uMkomati River valley visible below.
What to Expect
Gravel farm roads and singletrack on gently rolling to moderately hilly coastal hinterland terrain. The varied land use — sugar cane, dairy pasture and indigenous bush — creates changing scenery throughout. The uMkomati River valley views from the higher sections are rewarding and the rural farming character of Mid Illovo gives the ride an authentic agricultural flavour.
