Magoebaskloof Pine Plantation Path
The TMA Yellow Route is the beginner-friendly option in the Magoebaskloof trail network — a 17km fairly flat and fast ride that links Haenertsburg to the beautiful Cheerio valley along the scenic course of the Broederstroom River. It follows a mix of forestry roads and some singletrack through beautiful indigenous woodland at Glensheil Farm, and is described by MTBRoutes as ‘perfectly suited to beginners.’ The Cheerio Tea Garden at the start provides an excellent coffee and cake stop.
What to Expect
Forestry roads and gentle singletrack on flat to gently rolling terrain through SAPPI plantation and indigenous woodland. The least technical route in the TMA system — appropriate for riders of all abilities including confident beginners. The Broederstroom River valley is lush and green and the indigenous woodland at Glensheil Farm is particularly beautiful.
Getting There
Start at Cheerio Tea Garden. Turn left 3km after Haenertsburg on the R71 toward Tzaneen, follow Cheerio Road. GPS: -23.9512, 30.0045.
