Ohrigstad Dam Nature Reserve lies between Ohrigstad and the famous Pilgrim’s Rest gold-rush village on the Northern Escarpment — a protected bushveld reserve around the Ohrigstad Dam with game including white rhino, zebra, giraffe and a diverse range of plains game. The 25km loop follows reserve roads through this wildlife-rich environment with consistent Escarpment views.

What to Expect

Gravel reserve roads and dirt tracks on moderately rolling Escarpment bushveld terrain. White rhino and giraffe are the most commonly encountered large game on the reserve roads. The Ohrigstad Dam provides waterbird viewing and the Escarpment ridgeline visible to the west creates a dramatic backdrop throughout.
