Schoemanskloof Valley Gravel Ride

Schoemanskloof is one of Mpumalanga’s most beautiful valleys — a narrow, forested kloof that connects the Lowveld around Nelspruit with the Escarpment plateau above Waterval Boven. The valley road passes through indigenous forest patches, past waterfalls and alongside clear mountain streams in a landscape of genuine natural beauty. The 35km gravel valley ride follows the valley road through this spectacular natural setting.

What to Expect

Gravel farm roads on gently rising to moderately hilly valley terrain. The valley’s enclosed character — forest and rocky valley walls on both sides — creates a sheltered, atmospheric riding environment that is cooler than the Lowveld below. Indigenous forest birds, vervet monkeys and the sound of mountain streams throughout. The Escarpment views as the valley opens above are expansive.
