Vrede 25.81 Mile Route
Vrede is a small town in the northeastern Free State near the KwaZulu-Natal border — remote, authentic and surrounded by the open Highveld highland terrain that characterises this corner of the province. The 42km gravel loop explores the farm road network around the town on a solid intermediate route with genuine rural character and excellent Highveld scenery.
What to Expect
Gravel farm roads on gently rolling to moderately hilly northern Highveld terrain. The landscape is undulating rather than flat — the northeastern Free State has more topographic interest than the central plains. Farm gates, cattle, wetland vleis and occasional koppies feature throughout. Navigation requires a downloaded GPX track.
