Mid Illovo Meander
The Mid Illovo Meander follows the farm roads through the rolling country of the uMkomati River valley — a characteristic KZN coastal hinterland landscape where sugar cane, dairy farms and indigenous bush create a varied riding environment. The meander character of the route reflects the relaxed, enjoyable nature of the riding — not technically demanding, primarily scenery-focused.
What to Expect
Gravel roads and dirt tracks on gently rolling coastal hinterland terrain. The uMkomati River valley is visible below the higher sections and the agricultural landscape — sugar cane on the lower slopes, dairy pasture on the higher ground — creates a pleasant, varied riding environment. Suitable for recreational groups and social riding.
Getting There
Mid Illovo is in the KZN coastal hinterland south of Cato Ridge. GPS reference: -30.0156, 30.2634.
