Oribi Gorge 4km Loop

Oribi Gorge is one of the most dramatic natural features in KwaZulu-Natal — a 24km gorge carved by the Mzimkulwana River through the sandstone plateau of the south coast, with sheer cliff walls rising up to 400m above the river. The 4km Loop is a short, accessible gravel trail in the nature reserve that delivers gorge viewpoints without technical demands.

What to Expect

Easy gravel tracks on flat to gently rolling reserve terrain with access to the gorge viewpoints. The primary attraction is the gorge scenery — the 4km loop is as much about stopping at the viewpoints as the riding itself. The views into the gorge are genuinely spectacular and wildlife including samango monkeys, oribi antelope and martial eagles are regularly sighted.
