Howick Highlander Short Loop

The Howick Highlander Short Loop compresses the full Highlander’s best features into a 20km intermediate route — accessible to regular riders who want the Karkloof and Howick Falls scenery without the 45km commitment. Farm roads and singletrack sections combine in a satisfying midlands loop anchored by the famous Howick Falls at both ends.

What to Expect

Gravel roads and singletrack on moderately rolling midlands terrain. The Karkloof conservancy landscape — rolling green hills, indigenous forest edges and the characteristic pastoral quality of the KZN midlands — is the backdrop throughout. A manageable intermediate loop for regular recreational riders based in or visiting the Howick area.
