Oribi Gorge 45km Route
The Oribi Gorge 45km Route is the full riding challenge in one of KwaZulu-Natal’s most extraordinary natural environments — a demanding advanced circuit that takes in the gorge rim, descent trails and clifftop gravel roads of the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve. The combination of dramatic gorge scenery, technical trail sections and the remote character of the gorge interior makes this one of the most memorable rides on the KZN south coast.
What to Expect
Gravel roads, singletrack and gorge trails on advanced terrain with significant elevation change as the route descends into and climbs out of the gorge system. Technical sections on the descent trails require full attention — the gorge walls drop precipitously to the Mzimkulwana River below. The views throughout are exceptional — looking into one of Africa’s great gorge systems from multiple angles across 45km of riding.
