Tzaneen Dam Ride

Tzaneen Dam is the centrepiece of the Tzaneen Valley’s irrigation system — a large dam in the lush subtropical farming country around Tzaneen, South Africa’s avocado capital and one of Limpopo’s most agriculturally productive towns. The 20km dam ride follows the shoreline road through the dam’s agricultural surroundings with the green Wolkberg foothills and avocado orchards creating a lush, productive landscape.

What to Expect

Easy gravel roads on flat dam shoreline terrain. The subtropical Tzaneen Valley is one of Limpopo’s greenest landscapes — lush avocado, mango and macadamia farms surround the dam with the Wolkberg mountains visible above. Waterbirds on the dam and the fertile agricultural landscape create a pleasant, relaxed riding environment.
