Bela-Bela Savanna Loop
Bela-Bela (formerly Warmbaths) is one of Limpopo’s most visited resort towns — famous for the Forever Resorts hot spring complex that draws visitors from Gauteng year-round. The surrounding savanna farmland offers easy gravel road riding through the mopane and bushwillow Bushveld characteristic of the Waterberg foothills transition zone. The 30km loop is relaxed and accessible for all abilities.
What to Expect
Gravel farm roads on flat to very gently rolling Bushveld savanna terrain. The mopane and bushwillow vegetation creates a characteristic warm Limpopo riding environment with the sweet scent of mopane leaves in the heat. Wildlife including impala, steenbok and a diversity of Bushveld birds are visible from the farm roads. Post-ride recovery at the Bela-Bela hot springs is mandatory.
Getting There
Bela-Bela is on the N1 north of Pretoria. GPS: -24.8834, 28.3023.
