Blouberg Mountain Trail
Blouberg (meaning Blue Mountain) is one of Limpopo’s most striking geographical features — a massive sandstone plateau rising dramatically from the flat Northern Bushveld near Alldays, with ancient San rock art, diverse mountain flora and exceptional views across the mopane lowveld in every direction. The 25km trail explores the mountain’s approach terrain and lower slopes on gravel roads and mountain tracks.
What to Expect
Gravel roads and mountain tracks on advanced terrain with significant elevation change approaching and climbing the Blouberg plateau. Rocky technical sections on the mountain terrain require skill and care. The views from the upper sections — across the entire Northern Bushveld toward the Soutpansberg — are spectacular. Buffalo, sable antelope and a rich variety of Bushveld game are present in the reserve.
