Thabaphaswa Yellow Route

The Thabaphaswa Lookout Loop is the apex challenge at this remarkable Waterberg farm — Tim Fair’s 15.6km expert trail extends the Aloe Loop to its full conclusion, climbing all the way to the lookout point on the Thabaphaswa Mountain summit before the fast descent home. The venue describes it as ‘aimed at those who want a tough workout’ — from the lookout you can clearly see the mountain on the opposite side of the valley and understand the full extent of the farm’s extraordinary landscape.

What to Expect

Jeep track, singletrack and sustained mountain climbing on expert terrain. The full climb to the lookout is physically demanding and the rocky mountain terrain requires technical skill. The summit views — described as ‘well worth the ascent’ — encompass the entire Thabaphaswa valley system and the surrounding Waterberg Bushveld. The descent from the lookout to the farm is fast and rewarding.
