Wolkberg Plantation Loop

The Wolkberg plantation forests cover large sections of the Wolkberg range above Tzaneen — SAPPI and Komati Eco-Tourism manage extensive commercial forest areas where riding access has historically been limited but possible with the appropriate permit. The 25km loop follows forest roads through the plantation and indigenous forest patches on the Wolkberg’s higher slopes. Note: check current access status with local forestry operations before riding, as access permissions in the Wolkberg plantations can change.

What to Expect

Forest roads and singletrack on moderately hilly plantation terrain. The high-altitude Wolkberg plantation setting — among the highest commercial forests in Limpopo — creates an atmospheric, cool riding environment. The indigenous forest patches within and adjacent to the plantation are botanically diverse.
