Thaba’Nkwe Red Trail
The Thaba’Nkwe Red Trail represents the advanced end of this Waterberg lodge’s trail range — 35km through the rocky bushveld terrain beyond the standard gravel double track. More technical surface conditions, sustained climbing and the full physical demand of the western Waterberg’s more challenging landscape make this the option for fit and experienced riders wanting a serious Waterberg training ride.
What to Expect
Double track, gravel roads and rocky terrain on advanced terrain with significant elevation change. The rocky sections in the upper terrain are technically demanding and require care. The views from the Waterberg ridgelines accessible on the red trail are expansive — across the Limpopo Bushveld toward the Magaliesberg in the south on clear days.
