Lephalale Power Station Ride

Lephalale (formerly Ellisras) is in the far north-west of Limpopo — a town dominated by the Medupi and Matimba coal-fired power stations, the largest power generation complex in southern Africa. The surrounding Bushveld landscape is flat mopane country with extensive gravel road networks through commercial farming and energy infrastructure terrain. The 30km gravel ride explores these roads in the wide-open Limpopo Bushveld.

What to Expect

Gravel roads on entirely flat Bushveld terrain. Easy and accessible for all abilities. The mopane Bushveld landscape creates an open, spacious riding environment with the characteristic Limpopo light and heat. Wildlife including impala, kudu and Bushveld birds are present between the farms and energy infrastructure.
