Mookgophong Farmland Loop

Mookgophong (formerly Naboomspruit, after the common tree euphorbia — naboom — that grows abundantly here) is a small farming town on the R101 between Bela-Bela and Mokopane. The surrounding farmland — citrus orchards, cattle farms and the characteristic Waterberg bushveld — provides relaxed gravel road riding on easy terrain. A good overnight or stopover base for riders exploring the Waterberg corridor.

What to Expect

Easy gravel farm roads on flat to very gently rolling Waterberg fringe terrain. Citrus orchards and the distinctive naboom euphorbia trees create a characteristic landscape. Wildlife including kudu, impala and Bushveld birds are visible from the farm roads.
