Waterberg 30km Biosphere Ride

Summerplace Game Reserve is one of South Africa’s most acclaimed MTB destinations — a 3,000-hectare game reserve in the Waterberg Biosphere that hosts the Glacier Waterberg Traverse stage race and has developed purpose-built singletrack that uses the Waterberg’s natural features (red sandstone ridges, rocky outcrops and mixed bushveld) to create flowing, rewarding advanced trails. The reserve hosts over 40 mammal species including giraffe, kudu, sable antelope, zebra, warthog and leopard.

What to Expect

Purpose-built singletrack on advanced terrain using Waterberg natural features for flow. The BikeHub review of the Waterberg Traverse describes the trails: ‘built using the natural features of the Waterberg to create flow — high volume of singletrack, some steep climbs and sections with rock, all rideable, which combine to increase the difficulty factor.’ A genuinely rewarding advanced ride in an exceptional game reserve setting.
