Gerotek Test Track Trails

The Gerotek Test Track Trails are one of Gauteng’s more unusual riding destinations — a 15km MTB loop that winds around the Gerotek Vehicle Test Facility west of Pretoria. The terrain is open gravel paths and dirt tracks with the facility’s test ovals and banked tracks as a backdrop, creating a genuinely unique riding environment unlike anything else in Tshwane.

What to Expect

Riding is intermediate in difficulty — mostly flat to gently rolling open terrain. The appeal is the novelty of the industrial setting rather than technical trail challenge. The facility perimeter creates an interesting loop with a strong sense of place.

Access Note

Gerotek is an active vehicle testing centre. Confirm trail access directly with the facility before every visit — riding without permission is not permitted.

Take the R501 west from Pretoria toward Swartkop. Gerotek is well-signposted. GPS: -25.7812, 27.9923.
