Senekal Farm Roads Loop

Senekal is a farming town in the eastern Free State — a centre for the maize and sunflower farming that defines this productive agricultural region. The 35km Farm Roads Loop explores the gravel road network around the town through working farmland with the Rooiberge mountains appearing on the eastern horizon as the route climbs to its highest points.

What to Expect

Gravel farm roads on gently rolling eastern Highveld terrain. The agricultural landscape varies seasonally — bare winter fields become green and then golden with wheat and maize through the growing season. The Rooiberge views from the higher sections add a mountain dimension to otherwise flat terrain.
